Community Voices raises awareness of actions that might help protect our community from the dismantling of public services and public resources.
Action Plan:
Monitor events, trainings, and boycotts for human rights in the DC area
Raise Awareness of these events and causes, through our updated list and weekly emails
Organize groups to attend these events, for safety, community building, and fun!
Network with fellow advocates and organizations in the DC area
Project Status:
Community Voices regularly distributes and posts flyers for both Grassroots Alexandria and major upcoming events and boycotts. We are also aiming to organize regular group outings to events, so that GrA maintains involvement in local causes.
We’re Looking For:
- People to help monitor events; if you follow a verified organization on instagram, for example, you can send us updates about what that organization is doing locally
- People to attend events and trainings with us; the bigger the pool of people we can organize with, the more present we can be in our community
- People to help raise awareness of events and causes; ask for some our flyers, so you can post and pass them out around town; share our events list with friends and families
